Unshakeable Kingdom

By Brandon Bailey

The times we are in right now are quite interesting. For years we watched this type of scenario in fictional movies and never envisaged that this would be our reality one day. The situation has not been quelled much by mass media and politicians who are selling us fear, doom and gloom. With all this said, as Christians there must be a sense of fearlessness, clarity and certainty that governs our lives during this particular epoch of time. Our sense of fearlessness, clarity and certainty is derived from our “rootedness” in God who remains unshaken and who inducted us into an Unshakeable Kingdom.

Hebrews 12:22-28

“22No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. 23You have come to the Assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. 24You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.25Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! 26When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” 27This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.28Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe”

The current narrative in the earth is split into two. One school of thought believes that God is judging the nations of the earth to establish His reign and another school of thought believe that this is a crisis initiated by human will wit the end goal being complete control of human life and human will. Why it exist is perhaps immaterial, the looming concern is this: Who are we as kingdom custodians?

We are part of an Unshakeable Kingdom.

The word unshakable comes from the Greek word “asaleutos”,meaning immovable, firm, not liable to disorder and cannot be overthrown. Firm and immovable are concepts that cannot be divorced from foundations. The present times will come to test your foundations. If the premise of our foundations are psychology and intelligence void of the spirit of God those foundations might not be able to withstand the current onslaught of crisis. If Jesus is the cornerstone and those foundations are the ministry of the apostles and prophets those foundations will hold during these trying times.

Ephesians 2:20 “Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.”

An unshakeable kingdom also speaks to longevity. The idea of longevity speaks about a prevailing posture during the times. Can you sustain your posture of faith and be rooted in your kingdom convictions irrespective of how long the shaking endures? When crisis hits all of us start out in faith but we do not necessarily end in faith. An unshakable kingdom understands that is cannot be faith until its capacity to last is tested and revealed. For years we have we have trained people in faith that produce and that in no ways is evil or false. It is a necessary component of faith. This season is not testing the productivity of faith but the longevity of faith. An unshakable kingdom is rooted in faith with longevity. Jesus understood longevity of faith and posed this question to those living his day:

Luke 18:8b “……when the son of man returns, will he find faith in the earth”

Can you sustain your posture of faith if the times do not change immediately?

The modus operandi of Satan is to facilitate coups, both in the individual expression of life and the corporate expression of life, corporate which consist of community life and also that of nations. The word unshakeable also speaks about a kingdom that cannot be overthrown. Any student of history understands that the perfect setting for a coup is a conspiracy. This is seen in how Satan facilitated a coup in the Garden of Eden, where he planted a conspiracy in the heart of men in this context Adam and Eve. In your individual expression as a believer you are at your most vulnerable to be hijacked from your faith and convictions. The nations are at their most vulnerable for a full demonic coup. Our quest is not to prove the legitimacy or illegitimacy of a conspiracy, ours is to remain impenetrable by the possibility of a coup. To remain impenetrable to such possibility we will have to raise our frequency to that of God’s spirit. This is a time to hear what the Spirit of God is saying. It is a time where the question, “Whose report will you believe?” is confronting us once again.

Everything that can be shaken will be shaken. We are part of a unshakeable kingdom and this moment is the acid test for the unshakeable kingdom and we will pass!!
